Google Chrome For iOS Gets An Update; Update Includes Scanner For Barcode And QR

Google Chrome makes it much more convenient for iOS users to scan QR and barcodes as their latest update now comes with an in-app scanner. Now, users no longer need another app to scan the codes as they can do it directly through Google Chrome.

QR codes are very common nowadays so it’s almost a necessity for iOS users to find a good third party app that scans codes for their phone. This task is not really easy because they would have to test a couple of apps before they find one that they like. Fortunately, Google Chrome will now come with its own scanner that users can use a shortcut key or just typing the word “QR” in the Spotlight, according to Apple Insider.

Aside from scanning QR codes, the new feature will also be able to scan product barcodes. Barcodes will not only give the user information about the product but also reviews, its price and a lot more. This makes Google Chrome not just an internet browser but a much useful app for everyone including parents, kids, travelers and a lot more.

According to TechTimes, QR scanning may be out soon but it looks like its still in the game. Especially now that Google Chrome will make it much easier to use, QR codes will be very useful so people can instantly get a company’s complete information. Today, QR codes are still used in Snapchat, Messenger, Kik, and even Amazon in some of its packaging.

Actually, iPhones come with their own QR code scanner but it's placed inside one of its default apps so it's not really easy to access. It is made to scan boarding passes, coupons, tickets but it can be used for so many more things if only given a chance. And it looks like it will have it now through Google Chrome as it can make QR and barcode scanning more convenient and easy to use.
