Science In Arts Fusion: A Fashion Approach Coming Back To Life

Art

New York-based artist Ekaterina Smirnova watercolor from the photograph will be on display at the Union Arts Center on Feb 12. This line of artistry is an outer space field, similar to the Science in arts genre of the 1980s'.

Smirnova was besotted with Rosetta on November of 2014 when Philae surfaced on comet 67P Churyumov-Gerasimenko. In a published article in APS Physics Journal, Smirnova said, "It was the first time I met any scientist. They were all so open and willing to answer any of my questions." All her work of science in arts inspired to this field of Science are considered for an exhibit at the ESA directory by Rosetta-related art as suggested by Astrophysicist Claudia Mignone.

Another field of the artistry of science in arts is the BioCouture inspired creativity, a fusion of fashion and biology entwined a new kind of material. The notable Author Suzanne Anker said on CNN Style, "Donna Franklin and Gary Cass have invented dresses made from cellulose generated by bacteria from red wine." Anker further added, "Suzanne Lee composes 'growing' textiles produced by sugar, tea, and bacteria to fashion jackets and kimonos."

Former Fashion Designer and Quartz Chief Creative Officer Suzanne Lee focused on working on a new bio-fabrication platform that opens up intriguing possibilities of science in arts applied to fashion. The involvement of culturing cell that evolves to the production of leather-like materials may result to a slaughter-free leather. The elegance, ethics, and sustainability desires compose science in arts. Lee said in a press statement with Quartz, "What's exciting for us is just seeing a growing landscape of companies that are starting to bio fabricate much more environmentally friendly resources that have astounding properties and are better for people and the planet."

Like Ekaterina Smirnova, other artists found means of inspiration with science in arts. Through microbes and machines, cell surfaces images not seen with the naked eye, but somehow possess a unique natural artistry. Digital technologies, on the other hand, is a medium for people to see the real skin of arts.
