'Good Girls' cast, release: Mae Whitman Joins NBC's ‘Good Girls’

Mae Whitman is confirmed to be one of the girl cast for NBC’s “Good Girls.” She will play the role of a single mom named Annie who helps her sister, played by Kathleen Rose Perkins, rob a store so she can afford to hire a good attorney for a child custody case.

“Good Girls” is a story by Jenna Bans from “Desperate Housewives” and “The Family” which centers on the life of three good suburban mothers that suddenly face the realities of life, according to Deadline. In the story, they learn how to take risks and live the life they want to have. Aside from Whitman, the series will also star Manny Montana from “Conviction”, Matthew Lillard from “The Bridge” and Reno Wilson from “Mike & Molly”.

Before this series, Whitman had a cameo appearance on “Gilmore Girls” the revival where she appears in a scene with her former mother, Lauren Graham, from a different series “Parenthood.” In the revival series, Whitman appears in a scene with Graham and her daughter in the series Rory, Alexis Bledel.

Mae Whitman is from California and was born in June of 1988. She is the only child of a voice artist, Pat Musick, and a set construction coordinator Jeffrey Whitman. She studied at Ribet Academy but transferred to Whitefish bay High School.

Aside from her cameo appearance from “Gilmore Girls,” TV Line reported that the actress also starred in other live-action TV series including “Web Therapy,” “Arrested Development” and movies like “One Fine Day” in 1996, “Independence Day” in 1996, “When a Man Loves a Woman” in 1994, Hope Floats” in 1998, “The Duff” in 2015, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” in 2012, “Scott Pilgrim vs the World” in 2010. She also did various voice overs such as Rose in “American Dragon,” Katara in “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” April in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle,” Little Suzy in “Johnny Bravo,” Tinker Bell in the “Tinker Bell movie series, and lastly Yuffie in “Kingdom Hearts” video game.
