Ellen Degeneres: Lifestyle Brand & Real Estate Ventures

Ellen Degeneres is believed to be tracing the steps of the mogul who has turned her name into a household brand, Martha Stewart. The "Ellen Degeneres Show" host recently hopped on the lifestyle brand bandwagon with her ED brand which is said to show some resemblance with other celeb-run brands like Goop. In addition, her ventures into real estate has also been widely recognized especially with her Hollywood Hills West home.

It should be noted that Martha Stewart has already sold TV shows, magazines, cookbooks, kitchenwares, furniture, home goods and even model homes with her eponymous brand. The queen of domesticity then launched the Martha Stewart Living magazine and show in the 90s. Recently, Stewart is taking on the comedian's route ala Degeneres with her wacky entertaining show with Snoop Dogg on VH1 and a shocking performance at the roast of Justin Bieber.

On the other hand, DeGeneres started out as a comedian in the 80s and became a household name in the 90s with her sitcom. The talk show host also appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Moreover, the "Finding Dory" voice actor for the role of Dory also won numerous award shows including the People's Choice Awards.

Now the comedian has launched her brand ED by Ellen Degeneres. It has grown and expanded from apparel and home decor to licensing deals with Bed Bath & Beyond and Petsmart, among others, Apartment Therapy reported.

In other news, the "Home: The Art of Effortless Design" author is also widely recognized as a savvy real estate investor. DeGeneres is said to make a huge profit in the previous year for selling her Hollywood Hills West home for the second time. DeGeneres already sold her home in 2007 for $10 million and later bought it back in 2014 for $8.75 million, Realtor reported.

DeGeneres just sold the same home in August 2016 for $9.9 million in an off-market deal. The 4,000 square foot home underwent a full-scale makeover by the renowned design firm Marmol Radziner a few years ago. The house is equipped with five bedrooms, three bats, a fire pit, swimming pool and canyon and city views. Check out an episode of "The Ellen Show" with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg below:
