Wikileaks Report CIA can Spy on You through Your TV Sets

Wikileaks just released a major bomb on the internet giving a detailed explanation on the hacking tools used by the CIA to spy through TV sets. Read on to know more about their manipulative expertise on technology.

According to BBC News, the CIA uses software to encrypt your technology and gain access and control over it and that includes your TV sets. Their first spyware involves taking over computers and internet routers which is understandable. However, they have now reached TVs. There are also rumors that said the UK's MI5 agency has given their help in producing a spyware towards Samsung TVs.

When asked about this, a spokesperson for the CIA did not confirm nor deny the authenticity of the said accusations by Wikileaks about the TV sets. These don't seem like rumors that are farfetched as Whistleblower Edward Snowden confirmed in his Twitter account.

The purpose of these accusations made by Wikileaks about the CIA spying through the TV sets is to spur a debate on whether the CIA is further overstepping its boundaries. TomoNews US also gave a full report on this issue. The issue sparks fear for the CIA as they would lose their intelligence thus making it harder to catch their targets. There is also the question whether their snooping will do more harm than good for the public.

The process of the CIA, according to Wikileaks, is through a specific type of TV sets and that is Samsung's F8000. The name of the system is "Weeping Angel" wherein they will deceive the owners or users that the television is off but the audio is on and recording conversations that would later go through the wire and records of the CIA.

Wikileaks did not just end there as it stated facts that the CIA have planned for the future to upgrade such a spyware wherein the TV sets will take snapshots of its surroundings. According to reports, cellular phones are not safe as well. Former CIA boss, Michael Hayden, stated in an interview that the leaks are damaging as it has made the country less safe. However, Hayden never confirmed the authenticity of the leaks nor did he admit that the leaks came from an inside source.
