A Symphony of Form and Landscape

Field House is a dialectical work that seems closed by its apparent sobriety and internal complexity from the outside. Situated in the northeast corner of its parcel, the house rises above a big meadow to the west, behind a dense hillside forest with deciduous trees, mountain laurel, and rhododendrons. Drawing inspiration from the most basic and straightforward vernacular architecture, Birdseye has masterly designed a series of gables, drawing from tradition and an engaging conversation with the landscape.

Gateway to Serenity

Central is the southern façade of the Field House, as it will act as a gateway for people to pour in through into the tranquil oasis inside. As visitors approach, massing and composition create an interplay that takes the visitor to the entrance. The interlocking systems of horizontals and verticals deepen your architectural experience. At this juncture, the cantilevered gable comes in, flush against the landscape wall, inviting the wayfarer to discovery.

Craftsmanship and Sustainability

Beyond that, the Field House is an archetype of sustainability in design and construction practices. The maximum vision has been given since the time of the material selection to the implementation of energy-efficient systems and procedures. Characterize the vertical plank Oak walls, floors, and ceilings that assure a feel of warm, authentic ambiance. The same refers to the minimalist raw lime plaster in combination with brass accents, and these also make a room look posh but are kind to indoor air. The commitment to sustainability extends to all other aspects outside the house, too. Collected rainwater is distributed on the site into swales and bio-retention areas. High-performance thermal insulation can be found to include closed-cell spray foam applications in the roof and wall cavities and floors. An energy recovery ventilation system exchanges energy from outgoing air with incoming fresh air to maintain air quality and reduce costs. Highly efficient windows and doors guarantee thermal comfort and energy efficiency at any time of the year. The result is that the composition of each part and aspect of the Field House evidences Birdseye's commitment to creating beautiful and environmentally responsible space. It is a testimony of how architecture can harmoniously stand by and blend with the surroundings en route to creating an aid to sustainability. The project is a summation of the duo from inspired design through conscientious construction- a deeply respectful piece of tradition, innovation, and nature. The Field House reads as a case study of what will happen to residential architecture in the next few years while it develops toward being a haven of tranquility and symbolizing care for the environment.
