BlackBerry just filed an infringement case against Nokia in the US District Court of the District of Delaware. The company is said to have infringed up to eleven patents of BlackBerry without the proper license. BlackBerry is now seeking damages for Nokia’s failure to comply legally.

The two huge mobile brand, Nokia and BlackBerry, are battling in court as Nokia reportedly infringed BlackBerry’s patented networking technology called 3GPP, BBC reported. BlackBerry does not really want to stop other company from using their technology but rather giving license to its competitors. Now the company is reported to seek damages from Nokia for not having the proper license.

A comment from BlackBerry about the information of the damages they seek and the patents infringed has been sent, but a statement has not yet been released. As for Nokia, the company acknowledges that they are aware of the claims of BlackBerry and said they will do all the steps necessary to defend their rights, according to Digital Trends.
