If you're one of those people who want be in on the latest and emerging design trends for 2017, then stay put and read on to know more on what will be the popular picks for this year. Wow your friends as they marvel at your design skills.

Realtor recently featured an article giving out the emerging design trends for 2017. Trends always come and go, and in the world where new ideas are born more frequently, it is difficult if you do not know how to keep up with the flow. The household staples and designs last year have been outdated, and replaced by newer and bolder ideas.

What would be the newest design trend for your household this 2017? Try some geometric patterns! Fishpools, a design site that features various designs in furniture, clothing, and interior design, said that that newest addition to trends in patterns is geometrical ones. If you're the type who goes all out on patterns, then this trend is fit for you. But if you're someone who is not so open with loud and huge prints, you can still get in on the trend by adding small glimpses like a throw pillow or a small lamp with geometric prints.

Aside from patterns, we also go straight to jewel tones as part of the design trends for 2017. There were already hints last year with the appearance of the deco-inspired styles but solid and even patterned designs that captivate you with jewel tones are strong runners for 2017. Instead of just the cool monochromes, give your space a little warmth with these jewel tones. Polka Dots & Rosebuds designer Liz Toombs gives you a glimpse of interior designs that garner jewel tones in their photo gallery. If you are feeling a little adventurous, why not go for bright blues to give that pop that you want. Just make sure not to overdo it.

Another design trend for 2017 would be using cork! Yes, cork! Wide corkboards are getting the attention this year. Who knew something used for the office can also be a design staple? Just get a wide area to put your corkboard in and then place an assortment of cards, letters, pushpins, ribbons, fabric, and whathaveyous for a wall mural/collage.

If you're getting excited on the fun design trends for 2017, how about a little sprinkle of "jungalow"? It is using plants (printed or otherwise) to freshen up the look in your interiors. The green will give that little bit of life to your humble place. If you're not a fan of green nor have a green thumb, you can opt for using wooden accents that still give that touch of nature. The main theme for this year is obvious: playfulness. So go over and redesign your house and don't forget to have fun!
