On May 20, 2014, the latest Rooms Moscow/ MIFS exhibition and trade fair opens its doors to an even bigger number of exhibitors and visitors. For this year, the organizers foresee 300 participating exhibitors and more than 20,000 visitors in the industry fair.

Rooms Moscow/MIFS is an annual design and business venue for companies all around the globe to see firsthand the furniture retail market of Russia and Easter Europe. The dual trade fair is organized by Koelnmesse and Media Globe Crocus.

According to Gerald Bose, President and Chief Executive Office of Koelnmesse, they are expecting an estimated increase of 50% in the diversity of the international exhibitors and visitors this year in comparison with their first event held in 2013. Bose cited that 14 countries already registered to participate in the trade fair and these numbers still do not include Russia and CIS states.

One of the main destinations in the exhibit would be the German Pavilion which boasts of high-profile companies. German companies have taken this exhibit as an opportunity to tap into the Russian furniture market and so far, the number of exhibitors in the pavilion have reached to 23. Aside from that, exhibitors from Germany such as KARE Design, Switzerland (Spuhl), Denmark (Dan-Form) Turkey (Kilim International and Gaysan), UAE (Sealy Middle East Mattress and Reliance Bedding) and Poland (Tompol und Zawisza) are gracing the event.

Bose said, “The unique combination of the event’s spring date- which is important in this market- and the highly modern exhibition grounds is certain to generate many new business contacts and valuable opportunities to develop long-term commercial relationships between Europe and Russia.”

Aside from the exhibit, Rooms Moscow/MIFS will be presenting the Interior Innovations Awards winners in coordination with IMM Cologne, ORGATEC and Interzum.
