The Android Nougat Update is confirmed to roll out for the HTC One M9, HTC One M8 and even on some notable budget smartphones. When Android's latest version came out, it came with some cool new features.

Phones with the Android Nougat update can now benefit from a much faster multi-tasking functionality and multi-window support for apps and web-browsing. Fortunately for HTC One M8 and M9 owners, they will be enjoying those improvements as well.

According to GSMArena, even the older 2014 HTC One M8 model gets the Android Nougat Update treatment, which can be checked through the phone's settings menu. That's not all, there's also a bunch of other devices, both old and new, that are confirmed to receive Android 7.

According to greenbot, both the newer HTC One M9 and the futuristic, cloud-oriented Nextbit Robin are confirmed to get the Android Nougat update. Google has prioritized their very own models, such as the Pixel and Nexus smartphones, to receive the latest Android version first, over the rest.

It's good to know that, even budget Android phones will be getting the new Android Nougat update as well. According to PCMag, the new Android 7 also comes to what's referred to as "the cheapest Android Nougat smartphone in the US", which is the Alcatel A30.

The Alcatel A30 is priced at just $99.99, that starting price-tag nets buyers a good mid-ranged phone that comes with all the neat features of the Android Nougat update. The source also mentioned that a statistic from Google showed only 2.8 percent of Android smartphones are currently utilizing the latest Android 7.

That figure is certainly a cause for concern, since the latest Android Nougat update also comes with essential security updates. Which means only a small percentage of phones are fully-secured, while most Android phone models are at risk of being targeted by hackers. Hopefully, more smartphones will receive the latest Android version in the future, but for now, only time will tell.
