With Motorola rumored to be gearing up to unveil its massive Nexus 6 (a.k.a. Nexus X) smartphone as soon as next week, it appears the "Shamu" leaks are coming in at a steady stream.

The latest comes via the Geekbench benchmark database and CPU-Z screenshots posted to Twitter, GSMArena reports.

According to the screenshots, the 5.9-inch device's Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.65GHz quad-core Krait 450 CPU and 3GB of RAM scored higher than both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with a multi-score of 319.

In comparison to the rest of the competition in single-core, the new Nexus was only outscored by Apple's new iPhone 6 and the 5S, edging out battles vs. the LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S5, Nexus 5, Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One M8.

The smartphone also appears to feature QHD resolution with 496ppi, a 13MP camera with OIS and a 3,200 mAh battery that is non-removable.

The smartphone could hit several U.S. carriers for release in addition to the Google Play Store, a new report alleges.

Although Verizon has not sold any of the most recent Nexus smartphones (the carrier has only sold the 2011 Galaxy Nexus), the carrier will allegedly help launch the new 6-inch phablet later this year, according to PocketNow. Although the report does not tip a specific U.S. release date for the device, Android Authority recently reported that it will be unveiled in a few weeks alongside a new Nexus tablet designed by HTC and Android L.

The publication's sources familiar with Google's plans tip two dates: Oct. 15 and Oct. 16 for the unveilings, but that the Android L update will not be released until Nov. 1.

Phone Arena previously tipped the smartphone for a Halloween release date with a price tag of up to $499.99 in the US and €419.99 in Europe.

As the website notes, Google senior vice president Sundar Pichai stated at MWC that the smartphone's release date time frame was limited to the second half of 2014.
