A reboot of the action-packed "Tomb Raider" is in production and about time, too. Photos of Alicia Vikander who will be portraying the female protagonist, Lara Croft, have surfaced. Despite having some big shoes to fill in, Vikander is seen doing stunts for the movie.

Angelina Jolie has made the image of Lara Croft more than a decade ago as she portrayed the action hero in "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" and "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: the Cradle of Life." Now, Vikander is taking the crown and giving her own version of this favorite character and is doing a good job at it as seen on the photographs. The production was shot in a South African set yet not much of the other scenes have surfaced yet.

The DailyMail released behind-the-scenes "Tomb Raider" photos of Vikander clad in the signature outfit and donning the iconic braid of Lara Croft. The Swedish actor can be seen with harnesses and wires that clearly show she is doing some of the stunts. According to reports, the 28-year-old celebrity has been swinging on a wooden plank that looked like it is suspended in mid-air.

Another photograph shows Vikander working up a sweat as she swung on the suspended plank as Lara Croft herself would do in "Tomb Raider." Her toned body clearly shows that she will not disappoint when it comes to making the femme fatale as realistic as she was many a decade before.

The new "Tomb Raider" film is about a young Lara Croft who sets out on an adventure following the footsteps of her father (played by Dominic West). In an interview made by E! News, Vikander stated that she would love to meet Angelina Jolie who has made the character iconic and she also added that the new film is a different take on the old ones. Whether she managed to fill in those shoes or not, you be the judge of that.
