Hungarian office Bord Architectural Studio's collection of roofed buildings offers trendy rooms for a winery in Hungary's Etyek-Buda region.
Designed by Bord Architectural Studio, the complex for the Esterházy Etyeki Kúria Winery is the renovated form of already existed wine cellar and pressing house, which is around 18 miles west of Budapest. The owners added new reception areas for visitors.
The new two-story building constructed above the old cellars folds around the existing pressing house and it was designed with similar massing and proportions.
"Our guiding design principles included suiting the scale to the surrounding small traditional pressing houses," Ildiko Pem, the architect told Dezeen.
Think concrete walls and tiled rooftops combined with large expanses of coating and angled skylights were some of the features of the building.
"[We wanted to] apply natural materials and let sunshine into the depths of the winery," added Pem.
The entrance of the complex is marked a line of green trees. Further to that is a small courtyard that leads visitors through to a wine shop, an exhibition area and a new wine-tasting room.
Floor-to-ceiling finishing lets sights out beyond the vineyard and across a new garden.
