Dior's Magnificent Landmark Flagship Graces Geneva's Rue du Rhône

On the heart of Rue du Rhône of Geneva, Dior Maison reveals its new Swiss store, co-designed by the French architect Christian de Portzamparc titled as the laureat of the Prizker Prize. This brand-new place, which is fully integrated with the up-market environment of the major city, embodies a unique combination of modern design creativity, love for art and the classy magnetism of Dior's heritage.

Sculpting the Skyline

In the vision of the Dior flagship by Christian de Portzamparc Geneva, it is the facade that literally captivates one because of its impactful composition of sculptural details, becoming a highlight in the modern architecture style. The structure draws on the infinitely fine details of Dior's finest taste all the way to the soft, curvilinear lines that reminds the viewer of the well-known decorated flower petals germination. Six interweaving glass and resin structures have been aesthetically merged into twelve towers, forming this modern architectural icon which will change the city landscape into a timeless symbol of beauty and wisdom.

A Tribute to Dior's Legacy

Erring into the shop, you become a part of a refined space, that delights your senses and stimulates creativity. Featuring the interior design done by Christian de Portzamparc, the whole inside space expresses the label's depth rooted in its background history and harmonizes with the acquisition of a modern look from the fashion house at 30 Montaigne, one of the most significant addresses in Paris. The room is decorated with soft and delicate hues of pastels that make the area exciting and calling for further inquiry.

While the center wall is almost imperceptible to the naked eye, it conveys the marvelous craftsmanship of the designers in a silent but elegant manner. The entire wall stretches from one floor to the other, transformed into an abstract piece showcasing the designer's pure, untainted white art pieces, borrowing inspiration from sketches that come alive on the couturier's magnificent haute collection. Swiss artists including Pamela Rosenkranz and Ugo Rondinone enliven the atmosphere with wonderful showcases they produce to respect Dior founder's art and culture passion.

Where Fashion Meets Art

Each the nook at the story shop tells a tale, making guest to cast have one a journey which is experienced through the history of Dior and its imagining for the future. Drawings by Dior and photographs by Brigitte Niedermair from iconic shots form visual pins into the rich history of the brand. A private chapel, with fresh frescoes from the artist François Mascarello, is where the new clothes by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Kim Jones and Victoire de Castellane are shown.

The Dior flagship store in Geneva offers a lot beyond its beautiful architecture and, its reproduction of light and shadows is unparalleled. The glass and resin panels, with which the exterior and interior walls are decorated, guard the whole space smoothly like a liquid rain, which trespasses into the building and makes unpredictable patterns all across the walls and floors. On a sunny day light shine through the sheer curtains, acting as walls and lit up the space and the light was ethereal and warm. At night, the building glows up into a bright street light and radiates gentle rays into the dark sky.

In the midst of Geneva's Rhone Street commerce hub, Maison Dior's soon to be opened flagship will display the brand's everlasting heritage in The House's integral quest for disruptive innovation. The symbolic landmark displays its piece of art, museum like the art gallery the carnival with its style of architecture to bring their visitors to the detail of a world of Dior like never seen before.
