A nestling between the peaceful landscapes of Kota-cho, Nukata-gun, located at Aichi Prefecture, Awazuku Home would be a gorgeous icon of creative architecture and an open relationship with surroundings. This is a remarkable residential complex which is just within the lush woods, age-old temples and twitting streams. It tends a new type of living lifestyle; with connection to nature. Designed by Studio Velocity, Awazuku House offers a unique proposition: they not only rent a place, but they go for a lifestyle in which they experience the entire ecosphere which is loaded with a rich tapestry.

Renting the Environment

The genesis of Awazuku House arose from a profound question: Intrinsically, the balance between nature and community is what the inner quiet and peace it affords. Can we give nature the space needed to be a key component of our daily life? The real estate market in the neighborhood, comprising mainly of traditional apartments and condominiums, has resulted in Studio Velocity establishing the new model of rental lifestyle. The result? A state-of-the-art design called "renting the environment" is focused on an inside effect, which goes beyond the claustrophobic feeling of being hidden inside a small apartment.

Design Philosophy

The soul of Awazuku House is in it combining the architecture plan supported by the nature In every aspect of design, thought has gone into the creation of home that integrates with the local nature. All the alignments from building arrangements, roof slopes the main focus is the uninterrupted views of picturesque nature. The realization of the loft spaces, well positioned windows and every floor being equipped with panoramic view make the environment to appear more open and connected to nature which every floor offers the green surroundings.

Reimagining Material Reuse and Water Management

An ethos of sustainability underpins every aspect of Awazuku House's design. Studio Velocity's commitment to environmental stewardship is evident in the innovative reuse of materials and waterways throughout the site. Stones from existing retaining walls find new life as protective barriers along the northeast perimeter, while reclaimed pillars and beams are repurposed as seating and adornments along the outer walls. Transplanted hedges not only add to the aesthetic appeal but also serve a functional purpose in regulating flow lines and enhancing privacy.

The key detail of the system for managing water sustainably is the reconstruction of the old well, tested for water safety, and installed with pump for the oars that will help in making the well functional and ready for water supply. The well water, whereby the rates are coupled with a rainwater one collected from the roofs, smoothly flow through a network of waterways as seen in the surrounding site. It is both a visual division and a life-saving water resource, which reflects the symbiosis of architecture and nature of the city, and its natural vegetation.

Past, Present, and Future

Awazuku House is not only houses as a collection of buildings, but this is a "sculpture in the air," a living reminder of the harmony of the past with the present and future. To the east of the main house, the building that once used to be the owner's high school residence, they can see up to the distant horizon past the array of the Pacific Ocean. A gentle motion by water, softened by the breeze of the sea, produces a truly intimate atmosphere in which one can immerse themselves entirely. The sensuality of the moment seems to make time stand still, connecting the individual with nature.

The finale sentence is the ultimate statement of the paradigm shift in design philosophy of the buildings where the nature is not an outside view, but the integral part of life. Sustainable planning, practice, as well as remarkable attention and appreciation for the aesthetic elements and tranquility of Aichi Prefecture's natural landscapes, make Studio Velocity a dwelling center that fully comprehends and celebrates the nature's beauty. Sustainable living, with Awazuko House the shining symbol of peaceful co-existence with nature, the future of the planet beckons.
