Situated in Aichi's urbanization control area, the Hazamacho House challenges traditional architectural conventions by integrating with the rural environment and meeting the needs of nearby farmers. Designed as a single-story house, it blends in with the surrounding landscape, which includes rolling hills and a river that meanders through it. The architects tried to find a compromise between the client's need for a small house and the legal requirements instead of placing severe restrictions on the building.
