'Golden Girls' Finds a New Home, Find Out How It Happened

Rue McClanahan and the other "Golden Girls" are finally back! Though, it will just be on a themed-café. Rue La Rue Café was opened to commemorate the women's fame. In here are the story behind the place and some more details.

"Golden Girls" is an American show which aired on NBC from 1985 to 1992. Beatrice Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty are the women that captured the attention of many people. Their story revolved around the sisterhood they formed when they lived all together.

According to Apartment Therapy, Rue La Rue Café was Michael LaRue's tribute to the "Golden Girls." He met Rue and became friends when they both attended an animal rights charity program before.

"Golden Girls" memorabilia are scattered everyone in Rue La Rue Café so that the fans who will visit can go back in time. Most of it is the 220 items that Michael himself received from Rue McClahan before her death in 2010.

From the bathroom Miami pad tiles to the table, banana leaf wallpaper, and faux bamboo kitchen set all displays also pay respect to the other "Golden Girls," and the whole of the show. Rue La Rue Café is a home for everyone who wants to recall the entertainment they brought.

In another report by Eater, it quoted Michael's words about Rue La Rue Café as "It's a museum with good food." He said those words because even the menu was made to fit well the "Golden Girls" theme.

Some of the menus are the real-life food Beatrice, Betty, Rue, and Estelle ate themselves. There are Genugenflurgen cake, lasagna al Forno, angel food cake, cheesecake, and chutney. For the drinks, Michael LaRue also created coffee blends that have the names of the four "Golden Girls."
