In efforts of China to fight the growing threat of pollution, Nanjing will open a "Vertical Forest" in the heart of its city. In here are all the details regarding the architectural structure "Nanjing Green Towers." Find out whether it can finally end air contamination in the country.

Last 2016, China has experienced its worst air pollution problem ever. This alarmed the government and other environmentalist experts that now they are trying hard to avoid such circumstance again in the future.

"It is positive because the presence of such a large number of plants, trees, and shrubs is contributing to the cleaning of the air, contributing to absorbing CO2 and producing oxygen," Italian architect Stefano Boeri said as quoted in the Guardian. "Nanjing Green Towers" will technically be a really helpful matter to finally solve the air pollution dilemma.

"Vertical Forest" project is just a small part of the efforts the country is trying to implement. When Boeri was tasked to do "Nanjing Green Towers," he thought of Chinese buildings enclosed with lots of greenery.

In a report by Travel & Leisure, it described well how "Nanjing Green Towers" will be when it finally opens in 2020. First, it will be a "nature incorporated architectural structure" that will get alternating "green tanks and balconies." It will actually be a styled similarly with Italy's very own. It is also why Stefano Boeri was commissioned to do the same construction.

Rising in Nanjing with a 650-feet high building, "Nanjing Green Towers" will be two platforms covering 1,100 trees and 2,500 falling plants on its 6,000 square-meter-area. In relation to the fight for cleaner air, it will supposedly absorb 25 tons of carbon dioxide while producing 130 pounds of oxygen a day. That's a great feat to consider!

In all, "Green Green Towers" is a real catch for China! Though, the architecture will need to have more of its kind if ever the government wants to eradicate the problem totally.
