While Thanos will also be along with them, he will be recreated now as one of the major characters in the film.     Asgard, one of the Nine Worlds where Norse Gods live, has been a staple setting for Thor movies. Supposedly, the rest of the Avengers will need to go to the place to finally stop Thanos' plan for the infinity stones on the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War".
