New York’s ABC Carpet & Home Artisanal Rugs Inspired Designers’ Max & Lubov Azria’s Spring Collection At New York Fashion Week
It is always fascinating to learn about what inspires a designer and exciting to see how fashions can be influenced by other facets of design, for example interior design or architecture.
The Spring 2015 shows kicked off on Thursday, September 4 with BCBG Max Azria. According to a Style.com review,
"While the latest lineup successfully keyed in on that free-spirited look of the moment, the California-based contemporary label has always embodied a certain carefree vibe."
BCBG always seems to master the essence of bohemia in a light-hearted, beautiful-yet-modern way within each collection. This season, designer Lubov Azria provided insight into what exactly inspired the Spring/Summer 15 line, rugs from ABC Carpet & Home.
An essential, strong visual source of inspiration, and a highly sought-after retail store, ABC Carpet & Home, located on Broadway in Manhattan became the font of stimulus for the designer. Lubov Azria explained her recent visit there and how she came across "a stack of artisanal rugs that were beautifully faded by an overdying process called 'color reform'; [they] inspired [her own] muted patterns and sun-beached pastel hues."
