Why The New iPhone 6 Plus Bends In Your Pocket

Owners of the new iPhone 6 Plus expressed their anger and frustration on social media as it appears that the new slim phone bends out of shape when it is stored in a pocket.

Many videos have emerged showing how easily it is for the new phone to bend. Since the phone's release, reports have claimed that "a small but growing number" of owners are stating that the frame bends if the device is left in pockets for a long period of time.

People who bought the new iPhone 6 Plus took to social media to express their anger at Apple. One video, uploaded on YouTube by user Lewis Hilsenteger, proved that the new phone bends by just using his fingers. His video has now been viewed more than four million times.

According to the Daily Mail, the reasoning behind why the phone is bending is because of its thin aluminum exterior. iMore reports that areas of the phone with less aluminum are likely to bend, so parts such as the middle of the phone will get bent more. To solve this problem, the site claims that you should not put increased pressure on the middle portion of the phone.

iMail also stated that to ensure your new phone doesn't get bent, do not keep it sideways in your pocket, as you pocket will push it against your leg, possibly causing bending. Basically, don't put your iPhone in your back pocket.

One app developer, @drbarnard, came to the defense of Apple's new iPhone, tweeting, "It's actually impressive that the 6 Plus doesn't break. Seems like that much pressure on any device would do damage."

Apple still has not commented on the recent bending issues.

The company had announced on Monday that it sold over 10 million of its "bigger than bigger" model, setting a new record since it launched.
