Enjoy this Connection of Yoga & Architecture

Yoga, known for its spiritual and calming nature, infused with architecture makes for a good combination of harmony and design. The effect of this unconventional combination becomes a peaceful abode for meditation and artistic expression. The Darwin Martin House fits the description perfectly.

Judith Frizlen of Buffalo Rising had the opportunity to visit the aforementioned house that combined yoga and brilliant architecture and she wrote about it. She went to an event that occurred in the Darwin Martin House where people convened. These people are fans of yoga and architecture and they started to explore Frank Lloyd Wright's practices claiming that yoga and architecture are complementary.

Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the known American architects and interior designer who designed structures that reflected harmony and humanity thus inspiring this balance of yoga and architecture in the house. Frizlen said when she arrived at the venue; they left their footwear at the door and sat on their mats at the Great Batch Pavilion, one of the areas of the house that gave them a good view of the architecture of the area. One of the students narrated the relationship between the owner of the house, Darwin Martin, and Wright. Martin asked Wright to design his house and to make sure that it reflected his values and beliefs. Wright delivered and gleefully named the house as a domestic symphony.

In the works of Frank Lloyd Wright (as seen on his foundation's site), his belief is evident and the yoga and architecture that Martin wanted in his house became part of that collection. The house is something to behold since it is among the 1,000 structures that Wright created. Other parts of the house reflected the activities of yoga such as the regulated breathing where the roof and the spacing seemed to contract and expand like that of one's lungs.

Some areas of the room made one feel a constant peaceful aura that is very common in yoga and now is applicable in architecture. Even the color agreement and the hidden shelves gave the experience of yoga being focused on the center and having no distractions. They had a good tour of the house before resuming their positions at the pavilion to start their yoga session. The Darwin Martin House is now in the process of restoration as it is now a known museum due to the value of its creators.
