Responding to the owners' desire for direct contact with the land, the Chamisero House is ingeniously organized in a linear fashion, traversing from one hill to another at the same level. A glazed bridge, artfully designed to span a small creek, serves as the connective tissue between public and private spaces. This transparent passageway epitomizes the seamless integration of architecture and nature, offering panoramic views to both the front and back.
The roof emerges as the focal point of the Chamisero House, not merely as a shelter but as a design element that unifies the entire structure. This architectural mantle plays a pivotal role in managing the region's extreme climate - from scorching summers and frigid winters to relentless winds. Under its protective cover, the house unfolds, creating patios shielded from the elements and oriented towards optimal views.
The inverted truss design of the roof gracefully opens and inflects the house towards the surrounding hills, valleys, and distant mountains.
