Market Update! NYC's Most Expensive Listing Price In History At $130M For A Park Ave. Penthouse

As we all know, it costs a very pretty penny to live in Manhattan. According to the city's real estate record, the most expensive listing in history is currently on the marketplace for a whopping $130 million.

What could one possibly get for that much money? The answer is the top penthouse of a luxury tower located at 520 Park Avenue consisting of 12,394 square feet. The asking price exceeds a previous three unit listing at the Ritz Carlton in Battery City currently advertising for $118 million.

The 520 Park Avenue tower has been a project in the hands of developer Arthur Zechkendorf of Zeckendorf Development, a 54-story location that he describes as having "15-foot ceilings, with old-world finishes and modern amenities."

Zeckendorf has built one of Manhattan's most impressive addresses, 15 Central Park West, and is planning to have 520 Park rival the building's standing success. "Clearly 520 Park is the 15 Central Park West of the Upper East Side," Zeckendorf told Forbes.

According to Forbes, "To date, the record for the most expensive apartment ever sold in New York is held by Ekaterina Rybolovleva, daughter of Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, who paid $88 million for a 6,744-square-foot condominium penthouse at the Zeckendorf's 15 Central Park West."

Zeckendorf Development's and the partners of the new tower, Rafael and Extra Nasser's Park Sixty LLC and Eyal Ofer's Global Holdings, have bigger plans for the project and hope to see continued demand for high-rise residential luxury.

520 Park was designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, entails 31 homes with seven 9,100 square foot duplexes and 23 4,600-square-foot single-floor apartments. The listings vary, some start at $16.2 million and rise to $67 million.

It will be interesting to take a look inside the finished project and see what $130 million can get you in Manhattan!
