Bruno Guelaff’s Arteco Showroom Project Wings “Best Retail Design Award” at INDEX Dubai 2014

Bruno Guelaff’s work for the Arteco Ceramics Dubai showroom has won him the “Best Retail Design” at the Middle East and North Africa Interior Design Awards 2014 during INDEX Dubai 2014.
Arteco is a leading supplier of high-quality interior and building materials such as ceramics, porcelain, mosaics, semi-precious natural stone and clay roofing tiles in the United Arab Emirates.
Mohamed El Shamy, Arteco’s Drirector said, “This award is a fitting recognition of Bruno’s abilities as a designer, and the beautiful space that he has created for our showroom.” Mohamed El Shamy cited that because of the nature of their products, people expect that the showroom will resemble an industrial setting but with Guelaff’s design direction, he was able to capture the company’s essence of combining art and industry thereby creating a showroom that looks like an art gallery while highlighting Arteco’s merchandise.
The awarding ceremony took place on the evening of May 19, INDEX 2014’s opening day. The recipients of the awards in different categories were exhibited and celebrated during the ceremony at Atlantis the Palm.
Guelaff said, “It is an honour to have been recognised for my work by such esteemed members of our profession. This event is a great way for industry colleagues to get together and celebrate one another’s success. I am particularly proud of the recent project that Arteco Ceramics commissioned from me. It was a challenge to approach the project from an art gallery perspective. We are all very ecstatic of the outcome.”

The Middle East and North Africa Interior Design Awards are given to innovative and outstanding projects in interior design and architecture across the MENA region including countries such as Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
