Chairish Commissions Martha Angus to Design Rooms with Items from Website

Chairish, the first-ever online store for pre-owned home furniture and furnishings has partnered with interior designer Martha Angus in designing six spaces in an entire home with items solely from the website.

According to Anna Brockway, co-founder of Chairish and the site’s chief curator, the decision came when buyers told them that they’ve been using the site to furnish an entire room. Brockway said, “So we partnered up with Martha, who is a world class talents and a Chairish fan, to pre-design using all Chairish items.” She added, “It’s a fast and affordable way to get a whole room done by a world class designer.”

The spaces styled by Angus can be availed by buyers through different types. One would be to purchase the items in the entire home which costs $75,000 along with free shipping. Buyers can also opt to buy all items within a specific room, the cost of which range from $5,500-$25,00 and also come with free shipping. For those who prefer buying individual items, they can also buy single-piece items that are still available. Most of the furniture and furnishings in the rooms styled by Angus range from $199-$10,000.

“We’ve long been admirers of Martha’s work and she was an early adopter on Chairish, listing her own items for sale as well as buying a few for clients.” Brockway also said that Angus already has a huge client base but both sides “saw an opportunity to bring her style and vision to a larger audience.” Brockway notes that “By purchasing a full room, you save time, money but get that designer perspective. Instant gratification.”

Brockway also revealed that the site has plans to continue this kind of collaboration with other top designers who will style homes and rooms using Chairish’s merchandise.

According to Brockway, “We will be working with a few San Francisco-based designers soon- Kendall Wilkinson and Will Wick- and then we will unveil a larger designer profile centered around Los Angeles in the next few weeks.”
