Samsung Galaxy Alpha Teaser Video Highlights Young Creatives Who Are 'Just Alpha'

Are you a young, creative-minded professional? Well, Samsung thinks you're "Just Alpha."

The South Korean tech giant has released a new advertisement for its recently-unveiled Galaxy Alpha smartphone, putting a focus on the people who will live up to the device's premium name - in this case a DJ, designer and stylist.

The creative veers from Samsung's usual strategy according to Cheil Worldwide, which worked with the smartphone maker for the Nicolas Winding Refn ("Drive," "Only God Forgives") directed video.

"We wanted to create something new, something that isn't 'Samsung' as you know it," Wain Choi, global ECD at Cheil Worldwide told The Drum. "For this, we wanted to turn our video into a graphical piece of art that every Alpha person would relate to."

The Galaxy Alpha packs a 4.7-inch, 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED display, either a 1.8GHz octa-core or 2.5GHz quad-core processor depending on your region, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE and a 12-megapixel camera on its front.

The smartphone is catching a lot of attention for its metal design, but you may want to hold off on snagging the smartphone, as a new report claims the device will be just the first of its kind to release this year from Sammy.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Alpha will help Samsung kick off a new "A" series of smartphones that feature a more premium-looking metal design. The devices are reportedly being dubbed the A300, A500, and A700. Furthermore, the A300 said to feature a 960x640 qHD display, while both the A500 and A700 retain the 720p resolution featured in the Alpha.

Android Community reports that the A500 has also been spotted on the User Agent Profile on Samsung's website with the 1280x720 screen, but that the others have not been confirmed.

No other specs or details about the devices are currently known, other than their alleged Q3 release dates - meaning there is a slight possibility they could also debut at IFA 2014.
