Lenovo Yoga A12 2-in1 Now Comes With Virtual Keyboard; Retails At $299.99

The new Lenovo Yoga A12 2-in-1 will feature a virtual keyboard just like smartphones and will start to be available this month. It is a laptop and Android tablet all in one and will start retailing at $299.99. The only issues raised by tech experts is that it doesn’t run in a new Intel chip.

According to Computer World, Lenovo’s new android 2-in-1 has a futuristic feature which was first seen in their Yoga Book. It comes with a touchscreen with back-lit touch panels that effectively replaces the traditional hard keyboards for laptops. And the company assures users that adapting to the touch keyboards will be very easy as it comes with a similar interface to mobile phones.

Yoga A12 will run on Android 6.0.1 OS, a 1200 x 800-pixel resolution, 32GB storage, 2GB RAM and the disappointing Intel Atom X5 processor. This processor is reported to be phased out and replaced by a newer Pentium and Celeron chips. Lenovo explains that Yoga A12 was already in development when Intel made the announcement. For that reason, they were assured that the processor will be made available for their units and other products.

However, the company admits there is a clear room for an upgrade of the processor from Atom to possibly Apollo Lake. For that reason, the upgrade can happen in the following successor of their Yoga A12, PC World reported. Many Android firms have already decided to stop the use of Atom chips to their devices including Microsoft and Dell. So Lenovo said it is also planning to make the upgrade from Android 6.0.1 to 7.0 in the following months.

For now, the Yoga A12 is what the company will be focusing on but is planning to further enhance their technology and bring their virtual keyboard to Chromebooks too.
