Zaha Hadid Architects latest project is the tallest twisting atrium, China's Leeza SOHO Towers that will be completed in 2018. This collaborative project will stand a total of 1.4 million square meters consisting of offices and retail spaces.
As of writing, Leeza Soho Towers is currently being constructed at is expected by September to reach a 207-meter height that includes both Galaxy SOHO and Wangjing SOHO, published on Design Boom. The feature that is very distinctive with the design is the composition of a 190-meter central atrium which is already the full height of the structure. An added proposal by Zaha Hadid Architects is the subway tunnel that obliquely splits the site.
Additional details presented on Arch Daily for this latest architectural breakthrough comes to the basic information putting Zaha Hadid Architects as the only architect for the project. The design of the building is mainly collaborated by both Zara Hadid and Patrick Schumaker with the directorship of Satoshi Ohashi with associates namely Kaloyan Erevinov, Ed Gaskin, and Armando Solano. At some point, Philipp Ostermaier was named the main project architect of the Leeza SOHO Towers and assisted by his team Juan Liu, Dennis Brezina, Rita Lee, Seungho Yeo, Yang Jingwen, Di Ding, Xuexin Duan, Samson Lee, Shu Hashimoto, and Christoph Klemmt.
"Zaha Hadid Architects industrialized the project of Guangzhou Infinitus Plaza with conceptions of integration, connectivity, and fluidity. LKKHPG has a vision for nurturing better health and wellbeing through their work and vital communal programs," said Satoshi Ohashi director of the studio's China office of the Leeza Soho Towers in an interview with Dezeen. He added, "Zaha translated this vision to create a new workplace environment and corporate culture that fosters openness and communication."
Potentially, the Leeza SOHO Towers offers the maximization of using natural lights that will help reduces consumption of energy but adamantly perforated aluminum screens are used to cover the building from the direct solar heat. Zaha Hadid Architects aimed to facilitate a high rising skyscraper in China.
