Ferrari 812 Superfast: How Much Has The Supercar Improved Over The F12 Berlinetta?

The Ferrari 812 Superfast certainly lives up to its self-explanatory name, but just how much has it improved over its predecessor, the F12 Berlinetta? The Italian exotic automobile manufacturer made it clear that the 812 Superfast's namesake isn't a joke.

As a matter of fact, the 812 is the most powerful production car the Italian manufacturer has ever made, according to CNBC. The Ferrari Superfast takes after its F12 brethren by having a powerful 6.5-liter V12 engine.

While the F12 Berlinetta musters up a powerful 740 horsepower engine, the 812 Superfast steps up the ante with a monstrous 789 horsepower engine. The F12 Berlinetta reaches 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds.

On the other hand, the Ferrari 812 Superfast reaches 0-62 mph in just 2.9 seconds. This makes the super fast 812 model Ferrari's fastest production car to to date.

As for the design differences, the 812 has some notable design changes and improvements over its predecessor. According to DesignMilk, the Ferrari 812 Superfast has a more grounded frontal design with a more traditional grill and carbon fiber accents on the fender.

On the rear end, the F12 Berlinetta sports one circular tail light on each end while the Ferrari 812 Superfast has two angled tail lights on both ends. The source mentioned that one of the 812's highlights is its electric power steering wheel, which utilizes a stability control system.

Ferrari's 812 Superfast has four-wheel steering and it also incorporates the latest "Side Slip Control" technology. This gives the Ferrari 812 Superfast a much better handling to control its ridiculously fast speed. After all, the 812 is capable of reaching speeds up to 211 miles per hour.

The F12 Berlinetta was marketed as Ferrari's most high-performance car in the Italian manufacturer's long and rich automobile history. However, once the Ferrari 812 Superfast debuts on the Geneva Motor Show in March, the F12 Berlinetta might have to give up its crown.
