The Architecture and design industry never cease to grow. One of its examples is Oiio Studio's innovative "the Big Bend" project. This aims to defy the standards of structures in height. Hence, it plans to stand out by becoming the longest skyscraper in New York.
In Oiio Studio official website, it stated that by challenging New York's zoning laws the design studio plans to create a new set of innovation in constructing. There's no need anymore to fear height limits because "the Big Bend" isn't going to be about it now.
"The Big Bend" will also restructure the pricing range of many expensive housings in New York City. Part of Oiio Studio study is that height also refers to higher cost. In essence, this project is a new take on urban living in the area.
On a report by USA Today, it also shared the same sentiment of Oiio Studio about "The Big Bend." Accordingly, it will soon diminish the "rising architectural inequality in New York."
Oiio Studio plans "TheBigBend" to get a curving 4000 feet long area in Billionaire's Row. At the moment, it hasn't officially released yet the details how narrow it will be as per its arc.
"The Big Bend" will be joining the array of costly skyscrapers in the area soon. Its view will also be a prime market for it. Between the One57 Tower and 111 West 57th Street Building, it will have Central Park on its windows.
The horseshoe-like conceptual design of "the Big Bend" is born from Oiio Studio Founder Ioannis Oikonomou. The architect and its firm believe that anything could be constructed. Limitations and bounds shouldn't hindrance architecture. It's all about "Authenticity through uniqueness," the pursuit of a good story in structures.
To end, "the Big Bend" is Oiio Studio's dream materialization. Architectures today must be adaptable and symbolic. The soon-to-be-longest-building in New York will be soon an icon of change for all.
