Start-up Company to Invest in a New Interior Design Business Concept

Start Garden, a start-up company, has announced its plans on investing $5,000 on Roomations.

Roomations is an Internet platform which creates networks within freelance interior designers and homeowners. The site was created to provide convenient and affordable interior design services to the public. With Roomations, homeowners can upload pictures of the space they want to renovate and then select from three different freelance interior designers that they can potentially work with. Homeowners normally choose according to their style, budget and retailer preferences.

Members of the site come from a pool of freelance interior designers within the country. Designers can become a member of the Roomations Designer Network by paying an annual membership fee of $20 which will be taken out from their first design project through the site.

The site has helpful features that will help both clients and designers including 3D renderings, product and retailer specification, style boards, recommendations for color, lighting, accessories and furniture as well as information on design themes.

Homeowners can receive different types of design services depending on the pricing. For $20, users can get professional interior design advice per month according to their needs. For $250-$350, consumers can receive three months of advice and well as one to three style board options which will be provided by multiple designers. For $400 to $540, homeowners will be able to get style boards, photo-realistic renderings, shopping list for retail as well as three months of professional interior design consultation.

Katie Miller, co-founder of Roomations, said, “We have had quite a few customers that have proven that the concept works.” She added, “We have had very satisfied customers so we are happy we have tweaked it to the point that we know we have the right product. And we’ve actually had quite a number of repeat customers.”

According to Miller, the investment from Start Garden will be very helpful for the web platform as they are currently resting two different marketing programs. The funds from the start-up company will be allocated towards to promotional campaigns which they identified as referrals and from bloggers and online influencers.
