The iPhone's Apple logo plastered on its rear could serve a greater purpose with the upcoming iPhone 6,uSwitch reports.
Similarly to its function on MacBook computers, the logo could light up on the sixth-generation iPhone - but not constantly when it's in use like on the MacBook, but instead as an alert for an incoming message or email. The latest rumor comes from a case leak via Sonny Dickson.
Pocket-Lint also adds that the feature could be used for NFC, which has also been rumored for the Apple smartphone.
This is not the first time light-up notifications were tied to the device via an alleged leak, either. In earlier images posted by French blog Nowheerelse.fr, the new iPhone's Apple logo similarly indicated it will be able to flash when a user gets an incoming call or message, Forbes reports.
Specs rumors for the sixth-generation iPhone include an Apple A8, Near Field Communication (NFC) for mobile payments, Touch ID and an improved camera. Curved screens and the same color options offered in the iPhone 5S (Silver, Gold and Space Gray) have also been tipped in recent alleged leaks.
The device could be the go-to option for one in every two consumers looking to upgrade their current smartphones within the next three months, CNET reports.
A new poll of more than 4,000 consumers offered by investment firm RBC Capital Markets found that nearly half plan on picking up an iPhone by September - which happens to be the time frame most analysts are now suggesting for the launch of the sixth-generation Apple smartphone. Meanwhile, another 35 percent of consumers who aren't currently considering an iPhone said they would switch course and buy one if Apple increases the display size of the iPhone - which is anticipated to jump to 4.7 and 5.5 inches.
As for the device's price, 38 percent of the poll takers indicated that they would be fine paying up to $199 for the 4.7-inch model - which is the same price tag the current 16GB version of the iPhone 5S features. However, 26 percent said they would be willing to pay up to $299 for the 5.5-inch option.
Survey takers also offered up their most-desired specs for the iPhone 6, noting that battery life was on the top of the list, followed by a larger screen size and improved camera.
