Tinder Acquires A Video App Similar To Snapchat

Tinder has just acquired a video sharing app, Wheel, that's similar to Snapchat to improve their app's video feature. Since 2015, Tinder has been vocal about their intention to add a video feature on their app and it looks like the company has finally done it.

Tinder is one of the most popular dating apps in today's time and the company has just bought a video startup app called Wheel. Although details of the deal have not been revealed, Android Headlines report the company will use the app to add as a new video feature to Tinder. Wheel is an app based in California and its known for developing social networks similar to the features of Snapchat.

It can be remembered that Tinder has promised to add video features to their application which is probably the reason why the company decided to acquire Wheel. Adding a video feature to the popular dating app will make a huge improvement to the app's capabilities compared to just using its current features, texts, and pictures according to Fortune.

With a video, users will be able to get to know the other person on a better level rather than just judging their photos and words. And acquiring Wheel is one of the best ways to achieve that. Wheel has been in the business since 2015 and has raised millions for their app. Now the company will be moving to the headquarters of Tinder wherein its CEO, Paul Boukadakis will now work as Tinder's vice president of Special Initiatives and co-founder Chris Shaheen will take a senior role.

As of today, Tinder makes 26 million matches every day from their 1.6 million subscribers all over the world. Wheel, on the other hand, has less than 5,000 downloads in Google Play and Apple App store that is mostly from users in Australia and U.S.
