Interested in Interior Design? ArtSchools.com Gives Basic Tips in Using Textures
ArtSchools.com discusses basic tips in creating well-texturized interiors. In an article posted in the Nottingham Post, the leading online website search engine for art schools says that the basis of a good interior would be its texture. Texture can be applied to different aspects such as walls, floors, fabrics, and furniture. With the right combination, a designer can create an “engaging and dynamic” that has rich depth. However, working with textures can be challenging.
Thus, the website lists three important tips to add textures when designing spaces.
1. Create contrasts. According to the articles, “A room without contrast is boring.” When it comes to interior textures, one can combine opposite elements such as silk and suede or playing up with soft and hard materials on walls.
2. Don’t overdo it. Combining textures can create successful interiors but it should be kept within a maximum of three different textures. Too many of this can overwhelm the senses and make the room look cramped. Adding in plant elements or wall decors can also add some interesting focus to the room.
3. Go Bold. Accent colors are great when combined with textures as these can create drama within a space.
According to Andrew Girard, ArtSchools.com representative, these tips will help beginners to explore interior design. He said, “Even the best interior designers have difficulty combining textures and setting up certain spaces. For people designing their own homes or helping design a space, these tips can provide insight on how to create a warm, decorative space. While these tips are a good start, people interested in interior design should take classes to really understand what color schemes and textures work best together.”
