Google to Have Tent-Like Headquarters in California

Authorities have approved the plan of Google to have a unique workspace that will look like a "tent" campus. The technological ace has decided to build its tent-like main building in California.

Google unveiled the revised plan for its new campus last week. The California's City of Mountain View has given final approval to the project, thereby allowing the company to build its headquarters. The commencement of the construction is expected in April. The project will have an area if around 600,000 square feet.

The campus model has been so designed that a massive metal frame will appear having tarps draped over the whole structure. The design will make sure Google has one of the most intriguing workspaces across the globe. The approved tent-like structure might appear to be a simple establishment but it would be a well-planned set-up.

The roof of the building will have solar panels with gaps alongside the edges of the roof sections. The gaps will provide a skylight glow and provide free illumination. Overall, the Google workspace will be an eco-friendly sphere having a green vibe all over. It is the first time, according to Android Authority, when Google preferred constructing its own campus rather moving to a space that has already been built.

The planned structure will ensure handling the climatic changes and maintaining the same inside the premises. Google has indicated not keeping its new campus too loud to ensure employee efficiency and productivity. The company has also decided on the name of its new tent-like campus. It will be called Charleston East. The construction of the building is expected to take around two years.

The consultants handling the tent-like workspace structure development have described the campus as "a building form not typically described in standard city codes," according to Silicon Beat. Once the construction of Google campus is complete, it will have the capability to accommodate 2,700 employees at a time.

Besides the tech giant, another technological ace has planned the construction of its new campus. Apple's new "spaceship" campus is all set to be constructed near Cupertino, California. It will be named Apple Park.
