Analysts Predict Massive Sales for Apple's iPhone 6

With the coming release of the iPhone 6, analysts believe that there will be massive sales for the incoming Apple phone.

"As well as they did with the iPhone this quarter, with all the rumors of a new iPhone this fall, I was impressed with the results," said Van Baker of Gartner said about Apple's second-quarter. "That tells me when the next generation comes out, they're going to set the world on fire."

On July 22, Apple reported the massive sale of 35.2 million iPhones in the second quarter; a whopping 13% increase from the same period the year before. A surprising outcome as sales tends to drop before the release of a new iPhone.

A new iPhone from Apple is everything but imminent, possibly being released in September with multiple sizes.

The demand for an iPhone with a larger screen will without a doubt trigger a massive buying spree for the phone. Smartphones with bigger screens increasing their share of the total market, especially in countries like China.

"But there's a lot of pent-up demand among developed economies for a bigger iPhone, too," Baker contended. "I think the iPhone 6 is poised to do extremely well."

Apple committed a total of $21 billion to third-party manufacturers for components and equipment, as they get ready for the incoming announcements of new products.

They also had an additional $5.6 billion committed in obligations for acquiring manufacturing tools. Apple laid out the details of this commitment with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The massive amount of money that Apple has committed signifies Apple's anticipation for the next quarter, and their expectations for the sales. It is a 46% increase from their spending last year.

Some analysts, like Jan Dawson - chief analyst as Jackdaw Research, believe that although the numbers are big, that we should not look too deep into the numbers.
