According to Vocativ, the tiny town of Emerson-Franklin in Canada was filled last weekend with another influx of twenty-two refugees from the US border. At the moment, the local government of the area is struggling to accommodate the needs of everyone.
The Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council, Manitoba's largest resettlement organization, helped out to provide the necessities of the US border refugees. According to the Canadian government, Trump's "Muslim ban" made the rush significantly stronger.
Through a Twitter post, Trudeau announced before that he will be welcoming anybody in Canada following Donald Trump's victory. Though, the recent massive increase of refugees crossing borders is making people think now what might happen if he will shut it down.
In a report by Vice, it explored the possibility of US-Canada border closure. Here are the possible incidents Canada will surely have in the future if this will happen. "We'd die off," this is all about population death. Supposedly, immigration is what keeping the nation alive for another ten years and beyond.
"Economy will tank," it talks about the blue collar jobs most refugees have on Canada. No one will do them anymore if refugees cease to come in Canada thus the importance of the US border crossers now.
In relation to this, Canada will also have "problem with social assistance" if they will refuse the people. The economy flow will lessen and money will be a problem hence the decrease in the citizens' benefits.
