Google cloud is another segment of Google, which provides a bunch of modular cloud-based services like- computing, hosting, data and cloud storage, translation and prediction APIs. Google cloud offers services with a host of developmental tools, on the same supporting infrastructure that uses in Google search and YouTube.
On March 9, Google has announced that drive- without downloading them users will be able to see all their stored files in company cloud service. According to Cio, attainment of the Vancouver, B. C. -based company AppBridge will help Google in transforming the data into the Google cloud platform.
The main purpose of acquiring AppBridge was to ensure the safe and secure storage, sharing, and syncing of files. During the migration of files from existing servers and content management system to a company's choice able cloud platform. AppBridge always checks file permissions, that's why access and data integrity remains unchanged.
After moving to cloud people can easily get the files. Sure it's a very interesting idea. But it's also very challenging. Not only the file migration is enough, but also it needs permission to map correctly, to reorganize and to archive.
According to Techcrunch, Google VP of Engineering Prabhakar Raghavan stated that this migration idea is not so easy to execute.Moving the files to G-suite is not only difficult but also risky. There should be a proper mapping exercise of all the semantics and metadata.
Raghavan also said that since 2014, its formation time, AppBridge has never raised any outside funding. So being efficient in the migration of data to G-suite, this project is an obviously take-over target for them. AppBridge had been already a partner of Google and it is efficient in moving enterprises to the services.To attract more enterprises to Google cloud, AppBridge will help Google to eliminate all the possible barriers and will make it easy.
For getting a fully customized G-suite product we have to wait for a while. But this makes one thing for sure that after getting this function, Google will be capable of moving data to the cloud on its own which will make Google-drive more appealing to customers.
